Village Hall
Village Hall
Our village hall is an independent registered charity - Charity no. 304551. Managed entirely by the village hall management committee. This page is hosted by the parish council to support the local community.
History
Our village hall came into being in September 1968, when the building became vacant following the closure of the village school.
Thanks to the hard work of the Village Hall Committee, considerable improvements have been made over the years to all aspects of the building, making it more modern and ensuring that it complies with current regulations.
Of course, all this costs money, and we are very grateful to those who hire the hall, as well as to all the fundraisers who organise events to raise money for its continued improvement.
These include donations from individuals within the community, lottery grants, financial support from the Parish Council, the monthly coffee mornings, the Street Fayre Committee, the Rotary Club of Yeovil, the Garden Club, the organisers of the fireworks evening, the Players, the WI, and supporters of our 100 Club.
We thank them all for their hard work and continued support.
Hiring the Hall
At the present time, several groups use the village hall on a regular basis. Please see the Village Hall Calendar for more information.
Both the Village Hall Committee and the Parish Council hold their monthly meetings at the hall. The hall is also used as a polling station for the village.
Other users hire the hall for a variety of reasons, ranging from private parties and occasional wedding receptions to funeral wakes.
Anyone can hire the village hall. Our rates, conditions of hire and booking form are available on this webpage.
Parking
Parking is available around the side and rear of the hall. Visitors are asked not to park in front of either of the exits, as these are needed in case of an emergency.
Important Information About Hire Rates
Please note that the Village Hall hire rates increased for bookings made after June 2026. This is due to the considerable increase in running costs. More details will follow.
